so much more

READPLEASE.
i cried, i know it sounds stupid but
"No matter how many medals Phelps wins, Liu means more to China because he stands for a burning pride."
now do they understand?

siiigh more olympic drama :/

btw: i lol at everyone gagging at the air in china
you'd think that the chinese would be dying out or somesing if it were that terrible? don't blame it on them, not only does the weather play a huge part,
it's all a matter of adjustment. louise got a throat infection coming back to california from asia bcus the air was suck.
besides that, if you srsly hate the pollution, boycott chinese products and tell me how it goes :)
i'm very glad for overcast mornings here though, although i have sun burnt cheeks from the afternoon sunshine T_T

why is it that everytime the U.S. wins, it's all good
when they lose, someone cheated....and the U.S. should have won...?
go have your own stinkin games (WHICH WOULD BE EXCITING CEPT THE TAX PAYERS, i.e. US, WOULD ALL SUFFER.) and have all the medals you want D:<
this negative press is dividing the olympics, which should be a unifying event....
and what happened to "INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY?" so stfu hypocrites,
shame on you.

if the chinese gymnasts are underage, I WILL ACCEPT THAT. i honestly wouldn't put it past them to issue fake passports. but these news articles are really too much.
and please, only bcus we here in the states drink milk from hormonal cows, eat extremely unhealthy foods, and intake ridiculous amounts of fat do we look "the right" age. besides, asian skin FTW bcus tanning is ugly thar and of course, the terrible disgusting pollution prevents sun. the standards and circumstances are clearly not the same.

no one complained when paul hamm stole the gold from yang tae young of south korea four years ago...bcus america won.
look at your count, yes, you are beastly, yes, you are amazing and number one. so stop complaining, please...
and if this "cheating" "lying" "stealing" whateverr is for real, mebe someone might want to find out why everyone hates on the U.S. all the time
there MIGHT be a reason :/
they really need to stop sticking their noses up places they don't belong.

i feel very sorry for the IOC, they're in such a difficult position....
if they were to further investigate, that would be racist
but if they don't, the hate mail won't stop...i really do feel bad for them
i wish keeping peace with the world would not be so hard. the olympics is probably the closest, yet is so super FAIL that it's pathetic.

this hate on china only makes most who criticize SO ignorant and stupid looking -_-
the ones i love the most are "china's communist government is terrible, why are so many people in china suffering from poverty when it is such a wealthy nation??" please. that's a contradiction in itself, please learn something before posting.
this is true, many parts of china, especially the rural farming villages, are very poor. complete evidence that communism is not has long disappeared as the economic standard in china. it was attempted at one point, and to be honest, a communist ideal sounds very utopia. a society without poverty. of course, at the same time, this is very impossible.
and this criticism of how "you should spend money on earthquake victims and not the olympics." are you really that stupid -_- the olympics was SET 7 YEARS AGO. the earthquake only happened recently. do not get me wrong. i have nothing but sympathy and sadness for those who lost everything they had, it's truly heartbreaking....
but it's not like they KNEW this was coming and decided before hand to spend millions of dollars on the olympics.

beside, i did also notice that this was not brought up much in the news, or at all at school when we always discuss "current events," nor do we donate money to the poor parts of china, or anywhere in that general region for that matter
but i guess we fear that the communists will just steal it all....
changing a country as large as this is too difficult when this is all it's ever known for generations.
opening up 30 years ago was a huge step forward and china has progressed HUGELY since then,
it's impressive no matter which way you look at it.

i'm so very glad that china pushed the americans the hell away during the korean war. if they hadn't, who knows where the world would be now T_T
and beside, it's not like the americans really wanted to help south korea, it was merely out of self interest. and even AFTER they surrendered and admitted defeat, the left the place in flames, bombing like hell. consequently, the korean public suffered for that.
SOUR GRAPES I SAY, fine if you don't think the gymnastics controversey makes americans look like sore losers, BUT YOU CAN'T DENY THIS.
besides that though, i watched a video of the president of south korea? talk about how he has been encouraging sk support of north korea and it's verryy heartwarming :)
i spy a reconciliation soon! please....
which leads to something my mother pointed out this morning, people should never hate each other merely because of race
while this seems obvious, it OBVIOUSLY isn't the case around the world. of course i would know since i'm chinese and apparently everyone hates china soo...
i see this improving in the future, i hope that younger generations can forgive the past, but also never forget.
i'm hoping the phrase "history repeats itself" is not the case...

i am definitely rambling again...
but today, i encountered more first hand anti-china sentiments, personally directed towards me! but i decided it was useless to argue.

today was the beginning of tennis and i am EXHAUSTED. running around first thing in the morning off 3 hours of sleep is not comfortable....
the showup was tiny, at this rate, we don't even have enough for two teams...
hung out with some of the football guys and caught up a little :)
then worked on yearbook with denizzle. the science tech building is beautiful
so are our new computers!!!
some parts of the inside of the edge has fug wall coloring, it's so....hotel like T_T

i am now a bit relieved that the rest of the APSA kids are also slackers...
yet we manage to always pull our crap together just in time....

anyways, tomorrow:
apsa, tennis, football player mugshots, yearbook, JOHNNY ROCKETSS
and of course, the olympics :)

GOGO LIU XIANG

i'm so worried and nervous insideee
msnbc won't even cover it bcus it's live in china right now...
and yahoo is also lacking in coverage :/

i'm very stressed and school hasn't even started
TENNIS EARLY IN THE MORN'
and i'm very much not ready.

BLEH
as much as he's amazing
i'm tired of watching phelps on tv.
and beach vball. and also, i would much rather watch diving queen guo jingjing own everyone than random U.S. divers taking showers, thanks.

EDIT:
I CAN't BELIEVE IT. i cannot. why why whyyyy God, why?
poor xiangg

EDIT2:
i've been reading article after article and i still can't believe it
national anxiety turns to national shock
LIU XIANG,
加油 we're with you to the end!
GET BETTER, PLEASE, we'll support you forever~
i'm so heartbroken.
but i know he'll be back.

camcole

RE: cam cole's article on ze fakery.
lin miaoke and yang peiyi are prime examples of the eastern collectivist community versus the western individualist mentality. (i have been doing my psych reading!!)
miaoke's cute face+peiyi's amazing voice=best performance.
the western media is only reinforcing it's own obsession with superficiality. not that asians are not, but look at yourself before criticizing others!!
peiyi was cheated out of her voice, but what about miaoke?? she was told that her voice was not good enough. yet, everyone focuses on how the "ugly" girl gets the bad end of it all.
i agree that they could have found a good combination of both but this is how it played out and both girls are happy to have been part of the ceremony.
DON'T TELL ME that america thinks this is "sick" and "shameful," look at our entertainment! MTV? the trials in american idol??? american entertainment thrives on EMBARASSMENT and mockery of others. i was embarassed when my australian friends laughed at what they saw.
and i'm not going to start on the "fakery"
both had their faults and their talents, and together, both are recognized for the better part.
peiyi says that it is an honor to be able to sing for the olympics. i don't get how some people think she is only saying this bcus she is young. her maturity and understanding at a young age is the respectable thing, and also shows the culture.
while the show was flashy, she also showed her humility.
please, world, china only caved in to the pressure to produce the perfect show to your standard (and they were pretty close). it was a SHOW so everyone needs to chill just a little. it's not like you haven't done it before, am i right?
the fireworks were a safety issue, and they wanted the best footage to be shown. the fireworks were real. the americans were only sore that they didn't know about it earlier, the europeans did....
what's next.. what if li ning was NOT ACTUALLY USING HIS SUPER POWERS TO FLY???
oh shizz, they must have used wires D: FAKING. RIGHT THERE.
CAM COLE SRSLY NEEDS TO JUMP ON THAT STORY.
if this had happened anywhere else, there would be no issue.
I SPY A DOUBLE STANDARD.

also, if people haven't noticed, asian people age extremely well. take that into account before basing your arguments on petty physical observations.

i don't think the argentinian team/spanish team should apologize for their chinky photoshoot but they SHOULD apologize for accidentally offending. if they were to straight up apologize, it would imply that they did have ill intentions. i'm sure it was done out of childish humor so it wasn't meant to be racist. but risk losing the chance to host the games?? i think not. and besides, having 1.3 billion chinese plus the koreans and japanese hating on you isn't too good either :/
siigh sadly, i'd have to say that living in australia and america, i'm used to it now.
and the attempt of asian nations to agree with western standards of beauty is truly pathetic. eye surgey? whitening cream? YECK.
there are two view points of asian slanty chinky eyes.
1. it's ugly and we suck
2. fascinating part of the mysterious orient??
(btw, why is oriental so offensive? i understand chink but chink no longer has such a serious connotation...)
yet recently, there has been so much pressure to conform to western standards
and when they do, asians get bashed again!! (tyra banks show RE: gorgeous korean girl who got her eyes done)
the world's different cultures really can't agree, neither can ethics and politics
so we're just pretty much pathetic and God is probably laughing at us.
as much as i love You, this sense of humor sucks.

quite frankly, some of the U.S. media is very embarassing.
i've seen both ends of the media bcus surprise surprise! I READ ABOUT THIS IN CHINA?? AND WE ALL THOUGHT THE CHINESE WERE NAIVE IGNORANT PEOPLE.
and to be honest, the "i'm cool bcus i hate china" fad is getting old. (quote)
if i were tibetan and were indeed being unethically and unreasonably tortured, i'd be very offended that the world choses to care at this opportune time merely to make china look bad. THANK YOU WORLD FOR CARING NOW, selfish bastards.
I'M BIASED, i know you're all thinking that. but don't tell me you wouldn't defend your country.
I ALSO RECOGNIZE THE FAULTS. and believe me, there are MANY FAULTS within china
but when china does something good, something right, DON'T GET BUTTSORE.
really, i'm slowly getting used to the fact that china will never do right in the world's eyes.
but i'd like to believe that there is hope in the world! (reason for influx of entries hopelessly defending china)
so let's all leave each other alone, okay? (pity how the closest thing to peace can only be reached through his.) bcus really, the chinese government doesn't give a crap about ignorant canadian (front page!!) coverage on LIP-SYNCHING and all this other petty "news" that is being "uncovered." btw, peiyi was in the brochure for the opening ceremony..... the chinese have much more important things to worry about and that guy really needs to find real news, like why the canadian atheletes are lacking in the medal department...
I'M NOT HATING ON CANADA, i love it there and my dad lived there for a couple years
but the news is really pathetic.

bringing back that article in newsweek about china's inferiority complex, if that is truly what america believes, don't feed the fire.
you cannot deny the nationalism you see, blind or not.
also, if you truly believe china is rising as in international superpower, i'd advise not to provoke the country. this should be common sense.
but what do i know, i'll leave it to our amazing government that has led us so well! :)

anyways, good luck to vancouver! canada does well in winter sports if i am not mistaken? and i'm sure the opening ceremony will be amazing! :D

GRANT HACKETT lost :(( HE ALMOST MADE HISTORY but nooo DD: i was soo disappointed
i wish ian thorpe was here. then, watching swimming would be much more exciting. yeah, okay, michael phelps wins bcus he's amazing AND NO ONE ELSE IS THERE TO COMPETE. no fun in that :/ but congrats on his 8! beast.

i was also very surprised that tyson gay didn't even make the final?? EH?? surprise!!!
liu xiang, please be healthyy~

i came home today and was instantly reminded of the very inefficient workings of SFO baggage claim. besides that, going through customs was alright. the airplane showed medal standing updates! which was exciting.
also, did not get in trouble for bringing in snails, farm animals, or live bacteria cultures.
security is sucking, i sucessfully smuggled in 7 large snails (that frequently populate the areas outside sorrento tower 2) and 1 goat.
just kidding.
although it was a close call for the egg yolk moon cakes.
also kidding, my dad knows how lame security can be.

BTW did i fail to mention how fast security is in other countries!!
I LOVE HOW YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF
except in america.
this one lady at JFK international airport laughed at my socks and i would have told her to STFU but she was a bit larger than me...

went to a family friend party thing where we had chinese food
T_T
then i tried watching the olympics but only after three hours of commercials (and bad ones i must say, except that sumo wrestler plane one, LOL) and michael phelps touching the wall 7 times, did i finally watched my first event!!! which was the woman's marathon. two hours and 26 minutes of it. thrilling, really T_T
although china scored bronze!! one second off kenya's silver :(
i'm quite sure that there is activity going on inside the bird's nest while these ladiess are running around beijing. and if not, show replays!!!
SHOW SOME GOOD STUFF, PLEASE. not only do you block other channels, but the coverage is very minimal :(
the commentary is good though.
and i'm surprised that they make an effort to show chinese culture!! and here i was, thinking americans didn't give a crap! kudos :D
btw, the LIVE in the corner is a LIE. it MAY BE LIVE IN NY but it sure as heck isn't here on the west coast.
i found more fakery O_O

THINGS I MISS ABOUT HONG KONG/CHINA:
my daddy
best asian food, of course, and the cheapness of food in general!!
convenience and efficiency
good olympic coverage
the change in weather
cute boys
cute clothes
cheap shopping
culture :D
very nice people
work
OLYMPIC SPIRIT! it is EVERYWHERE. and i love it i love it
and very professional service. it never ceases to amaze me.

america is unfortunately lacking in some areas^

THINGS I LIKE HAVING BACK HERE IN THE STATES:
MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS!
not having to chose between speaking in mandarin and english and hoping they understand
blue skies
reading more hilarious western media
more laidback, lazy lifestyle :D
CHURCHH!! yayy
and supposedly, free speech and all that good stuff :)

i've noticed that young children here mature much faster and some also achieve a sense of judgemental bitchiness (girls, i suppose) earlier than other places.
this sounds racist, maybe
but for some reason, i always feel like people are looking at me so judgementally O_O esp when i'm alone.
don't lie, girls
we're catty.

well, it's relatively nice to be back
despite everything i've got to do
i'm hungry :( but food has definitely lost it's appeal right now.

btw, i'm sure i've lost a lot of readers (did i even have any??) who hate my youguyssuckforbashingonchina posts.
and i'm not sure anyone actually reads it
but eh, free speech? i loooove it :P

20080815

a message from HK mtr escalator railing:

"please hold me tight!"

right now, i'm at the HK international airport
which is sort of exciting, except that i hate airplanes and flying and all that :(

i'm also not excited about leaving hk :((
i have so many things to do when i get home!
APsa, SATs, yearbook, tennis, LINK
blehhh D:

LOL i read an article talking about our little gymnasts and it said something along the lines of how
one of the smallest american gymnasts was 108 pounds at 5 ft. and said that was probably obese by asian standards. totally LOL
bcus it's kind of true :(( to be honest. i'm obese by asian standards :/
DUDE. my qipao was an altered size L D: as in altered DOWN, i'm not THAT FAT
but still, i felt massive T_T

i wish american press would STFU sometimes! it's very embarassing T_T
americans do not set the standard. nor do we know as much as we think
siiigh, such ignorance.

i never thought i'd be sick of asian food, but i'm getting close.
actually, i'm just sick of food. no, i'm not anorexic
i've just been eating too much D:
but when i get home, deniz and i are going for some chili fries at JR :D it's been SOO long :(

i'm fat now.
why is it that it's okay to say
"WTF, ARE YOU ANOREXIC?"
but not
"GEEZ ARE YOU FREAKING OBESE???"
it's not like skinny people have no feelings T_T
the best explanation i've heard so far is that, being skinny is the better end of the spectrum, therefore, those who mock are just jealous :/

my dad and i slept in today and watched the olympics until we left for the MTR station
the MTR station is below our building and has a direct train to the airport
you can also check in downstairs as in, you don't even have to carry your luggage to the airport!
talk about convenience.
^ a couple more reasons to come with mee to hong kong!

i'm thinking that once the olympics are over, my dads going to buy soo much olympic merch :) hahaa

these two korean fobs next to me are super cute, taking pictures of each other
and listening to their MEGA OLD SCHOOL IPOD aka "classic."
it's mega fat D:

face whitening is gross. i bet it has bleach in it :(
however, tanning products are ALSO GROSS.
NATURAL FTW!

track and field is startinggg
and i feel nervous inside
my dad says that he feels like there is a chance liu xiang won't even medal
O_O UNHEARD OF! there is noo way, i'll cry so much if he doesn't T_T

also, i watched one of my favorite events, SPEED WALKING :D
a chinese guy placed, fourth, 5 seconds off third T_T
and the numbah one guy, russian, was one second off the OR!!!! when it's long distance, that just REALLY SUCKS.

i think that china is going to reach their gold medal goal, and i'm very excited :) i don't even care if america beats them overall, as long as they reach their gold medal goal.
it's an obvious distinction,
yahoo.com shows standings in accordance to overall
yahoo.com.cn shows standings in accordance to golds

anyways, jetlag is going to be KILLER in terms of tennis doubledays, however
i can watch live footage of the olympics (hopefully??)
i can work on APsa at night when no one else is around to bother me
i can talk to mai alll night bcus she's nocturnal
although i hear that MSNBC/america does not allow chinese broadcasting which means
reruns, delayed footage, and nothing but the red white and blue.
not excited about that :(

well.
ALMOST HOME :|

GAH YOU

that's how they say it in cantonese :P

today was the last day of work and i was kind of sad :(
kinda wrapped things up, catherine and anthony got me a gift! so super cute :D
anthony also told me about the lego OLYMPIC edition exhibition in mongkok and showed me pictures, the bird's nest looks so good O_O
afterwards...
i left and went to find my dad on the fifth floor, he told me the staff at SAE china thought i was japanese.
i have never gotten that one before, i've gotten korean, but never japanese :/

we went to sha tin after that and waited for the stores to open. then we went to KFC :B teehee and then WENT SHOPPING
and checked out the olympic exhibit that i love so much
the birds nest they have is so cool, and the photo gallery shows the progress through 7 years
i have to say that the designer of the bird's nest is a flipping genius :/
as is the director of the opening ceremony, no wonder he's world famous
AND the designers are SO PRO, i like to admire the designs of the volunteers/officials' clothes
so pretty O_O, i especially like the blue and gold ones
they make me so jealous, i like to watch them flock into sha tin and fo tan during lunch
being so close to the olympics yet SO FAR is very painful.

jay chou is also a genius, just thought i'd throw that out there bcus V.I.Ps are making a fuss about jay chou copying BIG BANG mvs (for nanquanmama).

which is SUPER LOL to me, not like those videos are at all original, most westernized korean R&B videos are inspired by american hip hop artists. anyways, jay chou is much more famous
and is a flipping musical genius.
so much so that he has respect from people who don't like his music :/
btw, big bang's new mini album is SO GOOD O_O
but their oh my friend song is so not big bang'in. as in it doesn't sound like them :/
GD's hair is fug btw. and i think if his voice belonged to anyone else, it'd be so annoying.
but GD can pull anything off.

AND. SHINee's new concept is SO ATTRACTIVE, they grew up O_O over like
...two months? lol, glad to see they ditched their multi-colored skinny jeans, the retro wannabe euro style, and taemin's bowl cut T_T
although i'll miss it, TAEMIN IS SOOO JAIL BAIT NOW DDDD:
i'm creepy.

anyways.

we went home and watched the olympics, then went to watch the mummy 3. it was okay, i'm very jealous of the girl who plays lin :/ she's sooo super pretty
the movie theatre is so flipping cool, the seats vibrate :O
aughh soo going to miss asia :((
her english is very good while the dude's chinese really sucks haha i saw an interview of the two of them a month or so ago, they have cute chemistry.
i packed my stuff and then
we took the bus to around...tsim sha tsui? and walked to the waterfront
visited the olympic piaza
which was SUPER cute hahaa
had dinner and watched the china v. US vball game
our waitor was sooo cute haha he looked like jay chou O_O
i saw so many good looking people in the past three days :/
unfortunately, this all ends tomorrow T_T

we took the ferry to IFC and thenn rode the MTR home

on the MTR back, there was this guy, he was like constipated or SOMETHING. anyways, he was like rubbing his butt on the pole and doing weird things O_O lolz SO HARD NOT TO LAUGH. half the car didn't even bother hiding it :/
then we ran into this drunk white guy hahaha he was hella lost and stuff. and smelled groddi :/
poor dude.

this video always makes me lol when i see it on tv.

i don't understand it bcus it's in cantonese but the bobble...waist part is SO FUNNY.
he looks a lot like su xing/alan su.

:OO NADAL, omgeez such an intense match...
and whats with the williams sisters -___-
SOMESING WRONG, although i'm happy for li na hahaha i like her.

i read about some fake bomb threats in HK hahaha one was in a green paper bag that said
"BOMB: STAY AWAY!"
hahaha silly trouble makers

i watched this interview of yang wei and he is SO adorable, the athletes really know how to speak and they're so mature and poised on camera, i'm impressed.
anyways, he's very down to earth, and so sweet to his fiancee
who was also, btw, an amazing chinese gymnast and verryyy pretty :/
i dunno about athletes of other nations bcus i've only seen chinese channels hurr...

on the TVB channel, they always say
"wei zhong guo jia you, wei ying guo he chai" (that was soo a mando canto mix lol) in cantonese
and i always thought they were saying "HE CHA" so i was like wtf, why would they drink tea to england -_____- lol
anyways. it doesn't mean drink tea and i just suck at guessing cantonese :/
must be british funded :/

lol i just read the dumbest article ever about the three medalists in the woman's all around gymnastics
it talked about how yang was shy and immature compared to the americans and how her idea of fun was going to the gymnastics hall to play with her teammates, how this was strange compared to watching MTV and listening to music and thinking about boys.
HAHAHAAHA
-______- this clearly demonstrates the differences in american and asian culture lol
which even carries over to asian american culture
the values are just so different :/
it also never ceases to amaze me how people never realize just how different people in this world are
and how america can't get off their superiority complex
my dad told me today at dinner "you're definitely not american. not patriotic."
to be honest, i've never felt a sense of loyalty to america
only recently did i become an american citizen, which was not my choice
i think america is a great place, it has been my home for a little over ten years
not a bad place, although boring
the weather is nice, education is good, opportunities are amazing
but i was never raised in an american household, and i have never really identified myself as american
if america was the melting pot it is reputed to be, it'd be a little easier.
anyways, i think the only way to learn is to see the world
which i am very lucky to do
(facebook says i've only been to 7% of the world though)
i do hope that america sees better times and continues to be succesful
but also learns to accept success of other countries.

new kicks=forever the sickest shoes.

LIU XIANG starts prelims on monday
i wish he could just skip to the finals and burn everyone, i don't want him to get hurt!! esp during the prelims T_T
it's selfish, i know :P hahaha
but i hope with all my heart that he wins
he has fair competition
but even if he doesn't win, he's made history already :)
i wonder what he feels like right now, with a billion times more pressure than most people deal with (literally)
hope he's healthy :))
everytime i see the track, i feel giddy and nervous inside, track just makes me so nervous T_T

if you could eliminate only one, would you pick poverty or racism?

i tend to ramble :(

20080814

Haru Haru

i don't like racist and ignorant people :(

my daddy came home early this week and we had dinner at this really good restaurant/food court place downstairs
tomorrow is the last day of work andd i'm going to miss it! actually.
lol i sometimes wonder why anthony is so nice to me T_T

we watched the ping pong match today during lunch, aus v. china.
battle of the motherlands.
china of course, beat australia hahaah
hmm i also watched china lose in fencing which was sad :( bcus they had such a lead and lost by one
china beat japan in vball! lol i liked the guy who ran around with his mouth open. i don't expect vball to go far at all hahaha but it was a fun game
i'm happy for yang wei! i like the way he talks, he's very down the earth. also, the second place japanese guy was pretty cute :)
ahhh the gymnasts are so cutee teehee zou kai! he looks like 17 but he's actually, like, 20 -__-

today, i met this girl who asked me about the sat
she was so cute haha she told me she's very scared of it o_o hahaahah
when people talk to me in cantonese, i never know if i should say
我讲国语 or "i speak english"
haaha

my feet are officially monstrous. in fact, i don't think they even make shoes up to size 39 in asia T_T I HAVE TO WEAR MAN SHOES???
i go home in two days :((

20080813

BEI JING

why are chinese women so buff O_O
three WRs shattered :OO

work was long today, i left home late (kinda on purpose....)
only two days left :)
then i had a not so good afternoon haha (sha tin, mongkok) and i was feeling sad :( but then i met up with jingjing and had dinner with her and now i feel happy again :)
we were talking about the mascots (and the nikes modeled after them!) and she said she liked the green one, jingjing hahaah
and the shoes i want are modeled after beibei (also my name)
i only just realized that the two of us are bejing :B hahaha

so much press covering chinese controversies! so popular
it makes the games so interesting haha
it was all over chinese news too, the lip synching thing, i feel bad for the little girl whose voice was used :( and the cute one too, it wasn't her decision....
and i'm very jealous of her bcus she got to be in a commercial with liu xiang....
anyways. while i think switching the girl was a pretty stupid thing to do
i'm pretty sure if they left the original girl, there would be critics too
there are always critics
no matter what China does, there's always something wrong
RE: the firework footsteps, the americans are just sore they didn't know about it earlier
it's not any different from when the archer in the barcelona olympics missed the cauldron. lol.
the fixing just makes it prettierr
the idea is genius anyways
while i'm annoyed at the lipsynching thing, the footstep thing is forgivable.
interesting how this is all over the news but the photoshoot of the spanish soccer team is not.
the argentinian woman's soccer team did the same, but china beat them good so it's okay :)
...i love western media...

no matter how i say this, it's going to come off as offensive so i'll just say it
i was watching tv in the train and
i'm sorry but i'm totally loling at some of these free tibet protestors
setting yourself on fire is not going to change anything
and to be honest, it's a little late to be hopping the pro-tibet bandwagon, isn't it?
because that's what most of it is anyways.

i'm surprised that the gymnastics competition had such a big margin :/
lol, i wouldn't put it past the government to change their ages
but those girls deserve the medal
and they're awfully mature (the way they talk), if they are 14 :/
he kexing is so cute :D hahaha

"_______wants every chinese olympic team to lose. especially in ping pong."
also LOL worthy.
too bad for him :(
ping pong is one of the many things china is owning in :/

LOL THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE BEST ARTICLE EVER:
“Little babies,” she kept telling her team in the middle of the Olympic women’s gymnastics team final. “Oh, look at the little babies.”
...

“Little babies,” she barked.

It was too much to bear. The little babies had gotten her. The little babies were driving her and her husband nuts.

The little babies were winning gold.

i don't want to go home

bcus i have so many things to do :(

WHY IS SCHOOL COMING SO FAST??

soccer: chn v. arg

:D

EDIT:
this made me lol so much:

work, lunch (krn!), watched olympics, work, home, causeway bay, sugong's house, home

work was better today, lunch was good :) anthony took me to phase II where the new cantine was and it has super international food
lol i had korean food bcus i had japanese two nights ago. asian food FTW!
it never gets old :/

afterwards, we joined the huge crowd around the wallsize HD tv showing the men's gymnastics competition. as expected, as zou kai finished his routine (with a 15.925!!), the place exploded (both next to me and on screen) as china won another gold!
i have never felt such comradarie amongst complete strangers.
and as noel pointed out, the athletes are good looking :D teehee

hmm hong kong station/central was full of olympics advertisement haha i love that station :)
i visited sugong todayy, which was fun. his shirt had LIU XIANG ON IT :O he said he'd try to get me one hahaha the post office sent it to him for free when he sent a giant package to china. i should try that sometime :/
anyways, didn't stop by time square
although i did see a huuuge billboard with xiang on it
that made me happy enough

dinner=wontons
i've always wondered why they're called wontons, it sounds nothing like the chinese word. mebe it's translated from cantonese? most english-chinese is...
also, i've always wondered why chow mein=fried noodles but chow fan =/= fried rice???

i'm very disappointed bcus the tickets to the equestrian events are sold out :( I AM TOO LATE D:

i saw a cute couple today, cept the guy had a MURSE.
which immediatly lowered their/his cuteness :(

as much as i like fob boys, i will never ever find murses to be acceptable. or if acceptable, attractive. which eliminates .5 of the japanese and korean population and possibly all of the hong kong population. perhaps i AM fated to marry a chinese boy.

i don't like living alone. and i feel very very sad for my daddy :( who has lived like this for two years DD:

since i have arrived home, china has won two more golds.

on the way back to kowloon station, i saw a kim heechul guy. a.k.a. guy prettier than a majority of the female population.

"Nastia Liukin is bringing the toughest uneven bars routine in the world, and Shawn Johnson will be strutting some of the strongest stuff on vault, floor and balance beam. When it comes to sauce and sass, no one comes close to Alicia Sacramone.

C’mon, China, think you can top that?

Actually, yes.

For every dazzling routine the Americans throw out there in Wednesday’s gymnastics team final, the Chinese can come right back with one of their own. And then some, in some cases."

-NANCY ARMOUR, AP National Writer

atm, korea has more gold medals than america. LOLS :)

RIGHT NOWW it's raining :)
work was freaking boring :( i went out with katherine and some other people for lunch and met mike who is freaking hilarious hahahaha he speaks in half chinese half english and it's soo funny -__- anyways SAE HK>SAE CHINA atm hahaha the office is nicer. but i still like china better
i left the office at 5:15 and took a diff bus to sha tin station/THE MALL which is like 7 freaking stories or something :(
SO BIG.
hmm on the way back, bought dinner and watched badminton, china v. HK lol
went downstairs and found this REALLY CUTE shirt which was too big :(
and thenn went down to the subway station to buy magazines at 711 but they didn't have the one i wanted :(

it's conveniant to live on top of the mall :P

and now. i am watching vball, poland v. china,
it's a good game, pretty close
i think china will win though :)

I WANT TO WATCH THE OLYMPICS FOR REAL!
i pass by the jockey club like EVERYDAY and anthony made me feel worse when he told me he went yesterday morning and got tickets for like 50 dollars. 50 HK????? that's like 6 dollars. i hope he means US hahaah

20080810

"is he married?"

FRIDAY
got to sleep in a leetle and went to work
cept today, i didn't have to work bcus it was the opening of D2D in the morning so we all went over there and had the opening ceremony which was pretty cool hahaha
the whole cutting of the pig, burning money, the whole shibang hahaah
afterwards....went shopping with jojo! (i guess i got the day off....)
i bought a qipao after trying on 294837498 times bcus it jus didn't fit right
i got it altered and it was soo cheap still haha :)
anyways, got back to SAE at like 315 and then headed back to HK
(i just saw angelababy in a commercial :O)
ate dinner downstairs
and then watched the opening ceremony :))
SATURDAY
woke up late T_T
i don't remember what i did, we ate at this really good thai resturant though
dinner was good
heehee my life revolves around food T_T
we watched the olympics alot on saturday
silly cantonese channels, only like 4 of them are broadcasting and like 3 are in cantonese T_T
we were watching the women's bball game downstairs on the HD tvs and decided to go home and watch and none of the channels were showing D: they were showing the stupid 5 hour cycling race instead.
anyways. we won so yeeh :D
SUNDAY
woke up EARLY and my dad took me to SAE to show me the way for the rest of the week
takes more than an hour D: two buses and one subway ride
so i have to get up early :/
we watched the shooting competition on the huge screen in the common area for a bit (china dominated!)
on the way back, we stopped by mongkok and i bought some random crap :D hahaha on nu ren jie, also looked in 284839 different shoe stores for these shoes i really wanted but my FEET ARE TOO BIG. stupid asian people and their tiny feet D: just kidding.
hm came back
i made lunch
watched more olympics :)
went to dinner with katherine at this really good japanese restaurant

TWO OBSERVATIONS about the olympics
1. when park taehwan won in the 400m freestyle?? they played snsd as he got out of the pool
that made me LOL :D hahaahahah
so i wonder if they always play the winning country's pop songs :P
2. i was wondering why the US anthemn never had words but then i realized that it was bcus when china's anthemn plays, everyone sings along :)

my mother tells me msbnc bought complete rights to cover the olympics and therefore only shows the american team.
i hope that is not true and if it is
how stupid -__-

anyways atm, i'm watching US cream China in basketball
which is to be expected, as my dad admits
"chinese men are wimpy"
TEEHE :)
anyways. they're doing better than i thought they would but :/
it can't be helped

北京欢迎你

"Friday’s Opening Ceremony was one of the few moments in the fantastical world of sports when superlatives had no shot. Brilliant. Powerful. Gripping. Take your pick. String them all together and they can’t exaggerate this one. Maybe the only way to understand how fulfilling the 2008 Opening Ceremony was is to think four years in advance to the 2012 games, and pity the city of London."

i'm kinda surprised at the way people treat each other in restaurants sometimes, i guess that's the biggest culture shock. at the same time, i'm not surprised at all. i guess to survive you really gotta be a bitch :P haha

I LOVE CHINA
despite the influx of fugly blue makeup and murses (more in hk than mainland)
it's back to HK after this weekend, still trying to decide whether or not to watch the opening ceremony in HK. they'll probably have fireworks and the whole deal :)

20080805

edit BELOW!

hrmm
i love the cover of newsweek!
but the article, not so much :/

it was kinda confusing....
while i agree that a western/foreign point of view makes it hard to understand the importance of the games to the Chinese people, i disagree with the writer's assumptions about younger generations of Chinese and his reasoning behind why everyone should lay off.

while clearly pointing out China's weaker times in history, and consequently, making america look like the big dumb bullies, he argues that China has built itself upon it's past failures. "saving face" has always been a big deal in asian culture so i guess it makes sense. clearly, it has built itself up and "regained [its] national greatness" but only to be met with opposition. whyyy, world :(
i suppose we can't all win?

now, the writer says that he expects the post-mao generation to be "exempt from the China-as-victim syndrome." supposedly, this generation was never exposed to the hardships their elders experienced, so therefore, this should not concern them? mebe it's different in the western world, but it's not too easy to forgive and forget. to be honest, i don't think my parents will ever forget what there grandparents, their parents, what they went through. uhm and i'm quite sure my parents are not "brainwashed" by the party, thanks. afterall, they have spent a considerable amount of time in the amazing! country of america. in the end, in addition to the failures, or not, i think that the people thrive on the fact that although China has been humiliated and defeated so many times, there's no doubt it's risen past public expectations.
and besides, we all know about asian pride and our inability to forget (different from forgive) the past....which is why we (chinese, koreans, japanese, etc.) can't always get along :( but that's a different issue....

"now is not the time to provoke them further and impede their progress toward a new, more equal and self-assured sense of nationhood."
so is there is ever an appropriate time to provoke a country and impede their progress toward a new, more equal and self-assured sense of nationhood?
aish, humanity :/
lol i think in the end he just ends up saying that China's sensitive to its past and this has affected the way it's looked at the world. and the leaders and people are "old-fashioned" so don't provoke them -__-
weak.
WE'VE GOTTEN THIS FAR HAVEN'T WE??? a little late to try playing the good guy.
honestly, i think america just fears losing it's "playground bully" reputation. not that it's a good one. but america seems to enjoy it :D

i was talking about this article with my mother and she asked me "so...is it pro-China?" and i thought about it. and i decided, not really.it's just trying to...fix the anti. amongst the extremely biased news coverage, (but really, what isn't) i suppose...i appreciate this attempt to be slightly more objective (or mebe i'm reading this entire thing completely wrong).

"with an estimated 30,000 rainmakers, a $100 million budged and more hardware (like those launchers) than it has pointed at Taiwan, China has the largest weather-modification program in the world."
THAT MADE ME LOL. anyways, i hope the ceremonies don't get rained on :/

"[phelps] might have a better shot this time, especially with australian ian thorpe now safely retired."
THAT ALSO MADE ME LOL. that's right phelps, only bcus the mighty thorpedo is gone.

so i was wondering if so much negative press would continue after the olympics? to be honest, it's kinda funny that the tibet issue only surfaced NOW. if yous gonna bash, do it better -_-
i'm also wondering if beijing will continue it's efforts after the olympics, to be come less polluted and stuff. i doubt it, sadly, but it's a nice thought, to think that they'd continue....

anyways, WATCH THE GAMES, it's a big deal to us. and if it's not to YOU, watch it for the atheletes!!! i.e. WATCH LIU XIANG COMPLETELY BURN DAYRON ROBLES AUGUST 21!
....he better.
jay chou will also be at the opening ceremony. def worth watching :D

today, i got my physical and two shots and my arms hurt a lot.
does race ever have to do with BMIs?? apparently it does....whatever, BMI is inaccurate anyways bcus it doesn't take into account muscle mass :/ bcus i'm so buff that it matters to me.
i also went out to eat pho for lunch with my mother, which was good. then i stalked soompi (i spend too much time on that forum) watching users rage and whine at each other for being racist bigots. hilarious :D
WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST BE FRIENDS??

i also started watching this jdrama that mai told me about a while ago. i actually know the whole plot before i started watching so it's not surprise but it's mega cute! it's called absolute boyfriend, hah i want the ideal boyfriend, tenjo night. well no, i guess in the end, we're supposed to realize we want soushi. right?

i never realized that blake lively was in the sisterhood.....

edit:
i made the important discovery that purchasers of clean and clear products also receive complimentary purple headphones.
also, i was curious as to what the national costume of america was in the miss universe competition so i looked it up.
http://content.missuniverse.com/delegates/2008/images/costume/US.jpg
....snowflake bikini, interesting :D
/edit

sometimes,
i wonder why God made the world so complicated.

20080728

ay bay bay

today, i discovered that i'm a terrible stapler :/
deniz and i worked on the bulletin board in yb and it was fun :D
yaaay then we went to yogurtland and the end.
i'm so heipi she's back, i missed her SOOO much. this is the hardest i've laughed in like, a month or something.

i had a three part dream last night/this morning, they were so weird O_O
well i remembered them hecka well when i first woke up but like an hour later i didn't remember nearly as much hahaahah so here goes:
1. i was talking to two guys from super junior (i know, what an amazing dream) i think it was like donghae and someone else....i woke up thinking about kyuhyun for some reason....hahaah but then like BIG BANG came in, well jiyong and yongbae (dream just got twice as good) and i was like wtfxors?? yay!! ahahha and gd had his bowlcut back T_T but it was TAEMIN STATUS so i was like omfg but of course he still looked good. and then for some reason gd and i were like bff and we were in like a really dark office building ish with random lights and those ceiling panals that are removable and at one point i poked one through and looked upstairs and tempo was there i think, or eeteuk. i forget.
and then yongbae told me something hecka funny about the dogs on daesung's shirt (LOL) and i laughed super hard and when i started walking out of the door with gd, he told me "don't forget to put that in your 'quotes' section on facebook!"
HAHAAHHA wtf right??
2. (i only remembered this until i was in the car with deniz haha) so i found out that this guy i know was korean (even though in rl he's chinese...???) and the dream was about me telling naomi. THAT'S IT HAHAA
3. we were in europe again and we were in france i guess just chilling and tianna, mr daren, and i were in this sandwich shop. i got a salami sandwich, i remember, and mr daren was trying to reason to tianna that she only needed one. when i got two...?? hahaahah
anyways so a lot of the furniture in the shop looked like the furniture in the yb room and there were 4 guys in there but they were american :O and i remember one of them said something funny and i ran laughing out the door to rejoin the group.
HOW POINTLESS

well, i started reading that psych book that i bought and it's super interesting.
one section was about this guy who proves that dreams aren't supposed to always have deeper meanings and they're just random disjointed thoughts etcetc.
i found his experiments really interesting but i still slighly disagree, i think some dreams have deeper meaning.
besides, it's more fun to interpret dreams :)

wang liqin-china, table tennis
number 52
ping-pong prowess confers rockstar status in china, and the three-time world champ, 30, who made the national team as a geeky 15-year-old, is now a sex bomb. are his bare chested photo shoots a distraction? nah.

LOL!
these blurbs are hilarious haha
i wish ian thorpe never retired so he could thump michael phelps :D haha jk. okay not really

"when liu xiang claimed victory in the 110-m hurdles in athens, delivering China its first ever sprint gold, you could almost sense the alarm in the announcers' voices. few had heard of this mystery athlete, much less knew how to pronounce his given name."
TEEHEEE
boyy he has a lot of pressure :(
WOW lamesauce, they made three covers for time, i want liu xiang :((

I AM EXCITED FOR 8.8.08
:D
OHOH DOUBLE BONUS, BIG BANG's new minialbum was supposed to come out on the first of august but is now pushed back a week. so two things to look forward to! :D

♫ baby i'm sorry-tae yang

today, i stole a couple more granola bars from my cousin's room. i guess i should just eat the rest and buy him a new box :/

i've been doing a lot of SAT practice tests, proud of me? i've just been going through every practice test i can get my hands on, and i think it's pretty sad that 1/3 of the ones i run into, i've done before. i definitely spent way too much time at excel....
THERE AREN'T ENOUGH TESTS FOR ME TO PRACTICE ON D:

i'm almost ready for fall/winter. this summer is getting old-fast. i wish it wasn't :/
i guess it wasn't what i expected

LOLZ i watched big bang's parody of s.e.s' song "nuh reul saranghae" again and it is SO cute. i mean the radio version bcus seeing tempo in a skirt is waay too much for me T_T although GD makes a really pretty girl :(
but seungri is sooo cute haha in the radio verson
somehow, those guys acting like girls up-s their attractiveness. i mean that in the most straight way possible, only big bang can do that -___-

my mommy and sisters come home on saturday! yayy exciting...i've been so lonely -_- and i really want to go out and eat pho or tofu or something :/

i really envy lee junki's skin. like srsly, it's not even fair bcus he's a DUDE. he says to keep puffiness out of his skin, he freezes green tea into ice cubes and rubs them on this face. and i've heard it really works O_O he's such a girl, srsly.
but a pretty one :/
i envy pretty boys (i.e. heechul, hongki!!). the ones prettier than me T_T hahahaah sometimes mai and i wonder what it's like to date a guy cuter/prettier than us -__- HAHAAHAHA
not too hard to find one....LOL

i really have nothing to write about so i'm always curious as to how i write so much
and now i'm totally rambling.

I'M EXCITED FOR THE OLYMPICS.

i have no summer hw except to finish this silly psychology book and to do my APSA stuff. blehhggg RUNNING OUT OF TIME
steffo is stupid
waited too long to start thinking :/

WHY IS IT THAT no one is here to play with me. :( and once everyon starts coming back, i leavee! D:

that is all :)
TATA. GOOD NIGHT.

红豆豆奶

yeayyy!

so i was wondering:
1. why it's wrong to wear fruity perfume in the winter
2. where in the world do hair ties disappear to
3. how fat people get on escalators that have bars in front of them
4. why is my hair so abnormally thick -___-
5. what chinese/english sounds like to a foreigner
6. how people call their parents by their first names...?
7. if it was possible to be completely unbiased

20080720

forever with you- big bangin'

so right now, i'm feeling the i-am-wasting-my-summer-away feeling again :(
bleh :(
well today at church, we got to hear testimonies from the youth leadership trip. man, if i knew i was going to hk in august, i could have gone :( i could do with some extra time with God....
after church, we went to eat italian food. it was good :)

i tried cleaning more of my room and it's looking a little better. i also started taking things off my walls that have been there since 7th or 8th grade. it makes me kinda sad :( to see the white doors and green walls again. ahwell. it's amazing how much you change in that much time. it seems like after you get old (aka adultness), time loses its significance.
i guess when you're done growing, you realize/get acquainte with yourself. you know what makes you happy and you know who you should hang around and etc. there's not much discovery left. at least not compared to now.

mebe i'll learn a new language.
great, could have come up with that idea three weeks ago....

20080719

unlike any other.

hmm i think i'm getting too much sleep. as much as i love sleeping, it's definitely not good for me :( hahaha like srsly TOO MUCH SLEEP. i feel lazy and lethargic

uhmm yesterday, i had sushi! and watched next with my cousin. later when virginia came over we went to see batman. WHICH WAS SO GOOD! hahah
i've always wondered why things like driving, watching movies, and airplane rides make people so schleppy. i mean, you're just sitting there. well i understand driving i guess. and movies, i suppose you have to somewhat concentrate, but airplane rides?? even the short ones...

i watched parental control today with them and it never struck me how ridiculously desperate and low american tv is until now. at least mtv hahaha -__- and yet, it's still entertaining? hAHAH i disappoint myself...

when virginia first came from australia, we were watching top 50 stupidest things ever said or something on VH1 and it was at least the top 20s or something and paris hilton came on and bush and all these important people and i've never felt so embarassed for america -__- hahaha
i also saw a recent photoshoot of DBSK in america HAHAH SO FUNNY IT'S LIKE SO TYPICAL they're like hanging out at the grand canyon and white water rafting and rock climbing and RVing and fishing it's HILARIOUS. so that's how they view us, eh?

this morning i woke up HECKA late bcus i had to make a phone call and that person didn't even pick up T_T and i was having a good dream!! (which i've forgotten....)

besides that, i woke up to mai's fb messages telling me to IM her about ft island but alas it is only 3AM in japan D: SO I HAD TO WAIT FOREVERRR but finally she came on and we talked and talked about ft island :D THEY WERE AMAZING YEAYYY i'm so jealous~
she got to touch their hands and beg them to come to america and rowland got special treatment bcus he's a DUDE. unfortunately, a lot of the concert attendees were old women. at least that's less competition compared to the attractive fangirlies....
EWWW i bet hearing
"MINHWANN OPPAA~!!" was hella gross D: i mean, minhwan isn't even MY oppa.
haha pedo status T_T
i'm glad she had fun :) she seems to be having so much funnn and i want to be there too D:

also, janet has a new obsession with lee junki (who is not as cute as my wonbinniee! :D) but i never thought janet would be one for attractive androgynous asian males....oh well! i like her taste ;)

and won hee sent me a postcard! lol i was surprised i suppose. actually, i thought it was danielle at first, so i was excited nonetheless :) he told me that danielle sent me a postcard with a nekkid guy on it. SOO danielle :B i miss her!
his is cute lol it's two aboriginal kids holding hands on the beach. it's a shot from the back and they're nekkid lolz it's sooo cute :B
BAHAHA i showed my cousin and he was like "out of all the postcards....he picks that one??"
hehehe :D
AH THE MOTHERLAND~

your eyes are the brightest of all the colors

i'll be back!

EDIT:
i had the desire to draw something so i drew my vitasoy box thing. don't drink taro flavored soymilk, it's mega gross T_T
redbean, the other hand, is good :) and i don't even like soymilk.
and then i drew an ugly version of the design on colonize tshirts/sweatshirts (I WANT ONE.) and i got annoyed so i drew a bunch of doraemon all over the place and colored in his balloons.
THE END!
i need to find some colored pencils and watercolors. :B

i watched vanhelsing today on tv during dinner/after and it was quite interesting. also, i ate ice cream and alburt warned me that if i srsly slept that much i'd get fat. so i'm going to bed late and getting up for churchh

20080717

[20:57] omg itsz megan: this is just more proof of the male gender's stupidity.

i had a dream again today and when i woke up, i forgot what it was about

then, i went on fb this afternoon and i suddenly remembered bcus my dream was flipping prophetic! hahaha we always teased donovan for having a grand total of (2) photos of himself on fb and when i added my france photos, i doubled his count in one day.

and in my dream, he had added his photos of france and he tagged himself and naomi and i were like O_O lolz so that was it.

and it turns out that he did! yay.

i told him too, i wonder if he's creeped out yet.

i webcammed with my family yesterday, it was quite entertaining. i think i'm going to buy one of those webcams hahaaha

it's also my sister's birthday tomorrow! yaya she's 8 ! it's also taemin's birthday tomorrow, he's 15. now i don't feel THAT pedo when i fangirl :/

bah but he's still younger than me :(

today, i helped my cousin jumpstart my car, which was fun.

I AM SRSLY ADDICTED TO SOOMPI.

i feel like i'm wasting so much time, just sitting here. it's not even that i'm not doing anything productive, i'm just not doing anything. i'm excited to go to HK though...

F.T ISLAND CONCERT TOMORROW :O

i want my promdate/husband to look like this plz.

20080715

i stay in love

e=mc^2

today, i tried to clean my room
shocker, i know
i pretty much cleaned my closet and then tried cleaning my desk and then got bored so now everythings on the floor :(
i also finished kite runner two days ago. i'm not sure whether or not i like this book
actually, it really scared me
oh and also, i got my visa to china today! it cost 160. my mom only had to pay 30. oh the cons of being an "american" :/
and that's pretty much all i did haha

rowland came by yesterday and i finally delivered my f.t island letter to him :D he's on his plane to japan now. so jealous~

on sunday, we went to carrow's bcus we saw that ad for crepes and they looked soo good
but yeah service was slow and i felt 5 pounds heavier leaving that place
thank God for chinese food 2/3 meals a day.

i had a confusing dream two nights ago! it happened in three parts, i guess each for a different sleep cycle? anyways,
part1: we were having a dance show at my house, which apparently has a stage, and everyone from dance production was there. we all had to wear green ? anyways, it was a huge success or whatever so then we all partied and i remember leaving with charlie* (or at least walking down my driveway)
part2: weird and possibly scary, i don't remember it
part 3: so it's the first day of school but it doesn't feel like it bcus we're walking around in shorts and tshirts and stuff. ILLEGAL. anyways, school is apparently held in St. Marcos' square, Venice, Italy. LOL so much more scenic than highway 280...
anyways, the middle of the square was full of people playing football (i suppose this is normal?)
and i'm walking around with my friends, being super cool and all bcus we're SENIORS now and uhmm i specifically remember simi and tianna. anyways tianna is like "i know why we're walking in THIS direction, you just want to see HIM" referring to HER (purely fictional) crush? which is confusing bcus i didn't want to see her crush at all. anyways
i did want to se someone else and then all of a sudden i see charlie in my peripheral and he's like "HEY" and i'm like wtf so i ignore him and he comes up behind me and drags me away like in those cute asian dramas
and then we're like running across the square which is suddenly less crowdy and full of italian vendors again? well i remember i quite liked holding his hand. and then we run into the shade of the corridor by the fedex store and sit down on the ground, which is free of pigeon crap. this is also ILLEGAL in st. marcos. no, i'm not kidding, in RL, you're not allowed to sit on the ground. it says so on the trashcans.
so we're sitting there chilling and being very illegal and he puts his arm around me! and i'm like wtf O_O and then i REMEMBER THINKING "this situation would be so much better if it were charlie."
but the odd thing was, it was charlie, was it not?
mebe he changed into someone else whilst we were running around
but i liked this dude too, whoever he was.

INTERPRET PLZ.

i liked this dream though, it was so vivid. it FELT like venice, it most certainly looked like it. waking up every morning to talk a walk in the sun in st. marcos RIGHT OUTSIDE our hotel was amazing. early enough to avoid the tourist crowds and actually see natives, and early enough to avoid lines at the gelatto places :D i miss it :(

i started a new drama the other day, it's called fated to love you. haha it's HILARIOUS. it's not exactly the best drama ever but i like watching it for some reason. it's surprising how applicable dramas are to life :/ and besides that, ji cun xi is a mega hunk!
also, the lead girl, chen xin yi, is just kinda....average. but she has such a good personality and attitude, and i'm suspecting that cun xi and xin yi eventually fall in love, (of course, it's an asian drama) so there is hope for me yet!

uhmm every summer, i get excited for the school year to start bcus i get bored sitting at home and being lonely and lame. and also bcus i see it as a chance to start over. but i guess i don't really feel like that anymore bcus i just disappoint myself -_- and also bcus it's senior year and it's hard to make all that much of a difference in one semester. whatever, i'm still looking forward to it.
i really really hate school though. after high school, college, and then grad school? it never ends T_T you're flipping OLD when you graduate D:
lolz just kidding...

you wanna know who i wanna look like when i'm 29? lee hyori.

atm, harker is making me ANGURY D:<

i still haven't used mahum's nail polish! it looks so pretty on her but then i saw almost the same color on this chinese uhljjang and it looked so fugly :( if it looks bad on an uhljjang, it most def won't look good on meh.

i think that you're only truly comfortable with someone when awkward silences aren't awkward anymore. this is why i hate talking on the phone bcus i'm just an awkward person :/
and that's also why i hate IMing people first, in case they actually don't want to talk to me and the conversation dies and then i think it's my fault and it just sucks :(
but of course there are always those people, the ones i don't care whether or not they want to talk to me, THEY WILL D:<
i wish i had more of those,
then i wouldn't feel so insecure?

*name change!

EDIT:
so i just read that papaya skin is good for your face!
I'VE WASTED SO MANY PAPAYA SKINS! aughh i just eat and chuck D: what a wastee :(
now i feel bad, i kinda want to get the skin out of the trash (the one i just ate) but that's hecka gross D: blehh

and i was also reading this topic on soompi about what trends guys hated on girls
and the common ones are:
leggings, uggs, and gladiator sandals.
LOL wow did not know that...well i mean, the legging part.
anywayz, on a somewhat related note
i think guys are most attractive in formal wear! hehehe :)
and it's also hot if they dress like gdragon. but he's kinda extreme.
park taejun is okay then :D, granted he is a model for aboki
i like his personal style too.
i'm kinda jealous of han suhyun. she's so pretty D:
blehh song jiyeong+her bf are mega cute. makes me want a bf :D so i can take cute pictures with him all day. i want to be photogenic!

i think you're never too young to apply anti-wrinkle cream. lol i was talking to mai about it and she said:

[15:08] x swirly whirl x: imagine
[15:08] x swirly whirl x: if a guy walked into our rooms
[15:08] x swirly whirl x: and saw that
[15:08] x swirly whirl x: he'd be like WTF THEY'RE GETTING WRINKLY ALREADY?!

GOOD NIGHT~

20080712

i. need. a. life.

I AM SO BORED and i'm BASICALLY UNDER HOUSE ARREST, THIS IS SO LAME D:<
i bet i would get more freedom if i had my liscense. but i don't.

anyways, this morning, like 984934 people called me before 10 T_T and i kept hanging up on them bcus i thought it was my alarm D:< lolz then they started calling my house gahh
anyways, i probably missed out on fun times today :(
but naomi did remind me of the booksale so i got up for that, even though i was an hour and a half late :/
i bought a stats book and an ap psych book, for supah cheap too :) from emchow :D
and i saw some friends
i love the book sale lol

oh and i saw erin lee today! she's so cute :)
"STEPHANIEEE YOU WERE IN FRANCE!"
"oh, how'd you know that?"
"you sent a postcard, remember? you said 'i love you'"
"oh yeah...haha? that's bcus i do ^^"
"oh. you also said happy birthday!"
"did you have fun?"
"yes :D"
won's mom: "won hee's in australia"
"i know, have you talked to him lately?"
won's mom: "yeah, but he doesn't want to talk to me, he just wants to play" (HAHA if you're reading this, call home D:<)
"I MISS HIM D: THERE'S NO ONE TO PLAY WITH :("
AWWWWWWW I'LL PLAY WITH YOUUU :B
"what about jun hee?"
"HE DOESN'T PLAY WITH ME D:<"
won's mom: "they fight all the time :/"
BAHAHA THEIR FAMILY IS SO CUTE <3

and then i didn't do anything.
but my cousin did buy icecreamu so i might go eat that.

BAH i miss my friends D:
i saw some today and it was fun :)
but still :/
I MISS MAIII she signed on at around 6AM her time and we got to talk! <3
and i sent her lots of LOL pictures of dbsk and spammed her wall. you should go look, we're hella funny.
hahaah i read some of our old wall posts, we haven't really been friends for that long but i feel like i've known her forever O_O haha i love her :)

this post is going to be slightly incoherent bcus i have no one to talk to and no one is online bcus everyone has a life but me :(

I WANT TO SEE MEGAN.
we should go to the japanese festival tomorrow downtown....

i hope superjunior will be in HK during winterbreak so mai and i can go and hunt them down, i will be the happiest girl in the world.

i wonder what it'd be like if megan went to our school
.....

uhm daniel says i have too high expectations when it comes to guys but in the end, i guess i realized that it never really matters what those specifications are, as long as you like them, that's good enough.
yeah i suppose it's something that attracts you to them in the first place, but in the end, it's the feelings that matter.
lol obviously bcus ______ was a freaking weirdo. complete opposite of anyone i would ever like. yet, i did :/

kay i just got bored. i'll write later :D

20080711

it's 2AM

and i am still awake! and guess what i'm doing :B
WRITING A FAN LETTER TO F.T ISLAND/OH WONBIN.
no, i am not kidding.
oh yes and i'm also talking to daniel tien <3>
my mommy and sisters left a few hours together and their plane left about an hour ago.
hmmm
now, i think i will leave everything for tomorrow to finish
eat a papaya
wash my face
and sleep :)
oh yeah and
HAPPY 7TEENTH BIRTHDAY TO MY BFF MEGANN LEUNG :D

secret #5
when i was little, i was a flowergirl for a wedding
and during the reception, every time someone tapped their glass with their fork/spoon/spork/chopstick/eating utensil, the bride and groom had to kiss
it grossed me out so much and i thought everyone had to do that when they were married
that i decided i didn't want to get married anymore.
the end :D

20080710

creature.

today, i visited my beloved school again and spent the day with my favorite editors!
we stuffed envelopes, wiped hard drives, cleaned filing cabinets, and ate popsicles.
i'm very content :)
so while i was looking through some of the stuff in the cabinets, i found bagillions of little stickers that say andrew tran on them because of the leetle mistake we made two years ago in the senior section. christy and i stuck the stickers on our phone
so if you're wondering why it says andrew tran on my phone
now you know!

hrmmm well my mother and my sisters leave tonight to HK, i'd laugh if they were on the same flight as mimi's dad and sister and grandparents :P
i'm going to be sad and lonely for two weeks D:

but hopefully, these couple of weeks will be fun :P
bcus the past two have been horribly uneventful :(
i feel like i'm waisting time when nothing happens, and summer is going wayy too fast.

oh! and i finished the handmaid's tale
and i dislike it greatly :(

THAT IS ALL FOR NOW. :D

20080708

i wanna spend the rest of my lifeee

with you by my siide :)

check out goot.
he's cool :)
[22:18] xduov3r: geek
[22:18] xduov3r: sick
[22:30] xduov3r: i dig this man
tadaaa! for once, our music tastes agree.

this morning, i ate cookies, a banana, and green tea for breakfast. gross!
then i talked to simi about being fit. lolz.
i really really really need to start exercising again :/

because i am a crazy, obsessed, fan girl, i'm writing a letter to wonbin :)
but it's not what you think.

i think my hand writing needs to be improved
and also, i'm going to clean my room soon! i know right, shocker.
well, it's too hot these days so next week, when it cools off, i'll work more on that...

i think my fashion sense is srsly going down the drain :)
and i can't WAIT to shop in hk.
esp bcus they just built that mall downstairs? SO MANY PEPO AROUND MY HIZZLE.
go away.
just kidding :)
i hope i get those fugly kicks i want so bad that cost so much in bath.

and also, i'm infatuated with park taejun.
but of course, wonbin>taejun.

i think i'll go to bed early tonight and get up early too

here is the joke on my qcup cup:
Q: 牛奶是什么生的?

A: 花。因为花“生”牛奶。
(peanut milk.)

WOW. ULTIMATE LAME, RIGHT?

BRIANCHAOJOKE:
Q. why did the monkey fall out of the tree?

A. bcus it was dead.
so sed :(

20080707

WHY IS IT

that there is so much i regret right now?
i feel like i didn't try nearly hard enough junior year and now it's senior year and i'm going to be very sorry when acceptance (and rejection) letters start coming out a little more than half a year from now.
i like to think that i work really hard
but the reality is
that i don't
maybe it's the competitive atmosphere that harker basks in that makes me feel so below average
but at the same time, i can't help but wonder why i really do have to work so hard to get mediocre results. i'm insanely jealous of naturally smart people :/
mai says that it's no use moping about it
and the only thing we can do is work harder from now on
what if it's too late :/

BLEH. i do not work well under pressure.

i hate to say it but i told you soo
steffo, school just ain't yo thing.

EVERYONE SHOULD GO BUY SEVENTEEN MAGAZINE, AUGUST EDITION
bcus the beautiful and talented noel duan is in it!
i'm so proud of her :)

i wish we were sophomores again. that was a good year!

I CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT.

20080706

NOT A FAN.

HELLO!

i haven't made a wish at 11:11 in quite some time now so i'm hoping i won't miss it tonight. also, i watched the olympic trials today and i might say that the U.S. team is quite beastial.
but of course, no match for the mighty liu xiang, the flying man! i'm quite disappointed that robles killed his world record by .01 of a second, but no matter. he will pwn in the olympics, i am sure.

speaking of which, i think i'm going to regret not asking my dad to get tickets to the opening ceremony. i suppose i will be in china during the olympics, and i'm predicting that the atmosphere will be ridiculous. however, only the equesterian events are held where i am :(

liu xiang false started in the prefontaine classic, therefore getting disqualified :( donovan told me that he got to see him there! LAMESAUCE. and his dad and his sister are going to the olympics :( luckyy!

I'M GOING TO HARKER ON THURSDAY, ANYONE CARE TO JOIN?

i need some new music. i wish i had more room on my mp3 :(

MAI IS NOW IN JAPAN and i'm insanely jealous! haha she already bumped into an attractive fob mang in the airport and is now in the process of befriending him after finding out that he attends her school. NOT FAIR. why does she get all the luck? perhaps i will too in hong kong! where i am free to roam on my own.

yes, living alone :( one can only hope that i don't burn down all 80 stories of our apartment with my carelessness.

11:11 WISHING TIME. :D

i'm looking forward to it, though!
ALSO
i read an article on soompi about how you can bake cakes in rice cookers. AND NOW I AM SHARING THIS WONDERFUL PIECE OF NEWS WITH YOU! how COOL is that, now in college, you can have fresh baked goods without an oven! like srsly, your cakes would always come out in perfect shape and stuff. and you can make cupcakes and the whole shibang.
actually, sean told me you can make hot dogs too but they taste gross. i dunno why you would do that anyways :/

i just listened to about three ft island songs on shuffle. yayy :)
now it's playing go younha's password 486
i really like this video, youtube it! she's so pretty :) and her piano says her name on it! that was her first kiss too o_o this video always makes me want to have a boyfriend :) the name is quite witty, too.

if i had a boyfriend, i would like him to pick me daisies :D and take plenty of photos with me! and also, when i'm sad, i'd hope that he would buy me a happy meal.
and also look like oh won bin. JUST KIDDING :)

I WISH I WERE WITH MAI. AND PAULINE :( or mayhaps, they were with me. and we could go shopping. and rice-cooker-cake-baking D: and FANGIRLINGG ehh

secret #4
i used to stay up into the wee hours of the morning to watch the speed walking events in the olympics.

20080705

how are you?

naomi and i went to harker on thursday and it felt good to see so many people again. ahaha so many people as in people who aren't my mom, my sisters, or my cousin.

yesterday, i went to a family friend party but i felt so tired :( so i didn't do anything while everyone else played rock band. but it was fun to catch up with old friends :)

afterwards, i went to go pick up naynay and we went to creekside park to see fireworks! haha with my sister -__- we then found emily and jan and then neil and heidi! we ran into more harker kids, what a happy reunion :) ahahah
then, YOGURTLAND!

and that's the end of my wonderful two days spent with people. kind of.

20080703

"i mean, i am pretty exciting"

so today
naomi and i are going to harker! to drop off our europe photos and then i get to pick up my france photos! how exciting :)
hopefully, we'll get to do something together afterwards.
tomorrow, i think the tentative plan is watching tino high fireworks at creekside park. i'm excited! haha so if you wanna hang, come! please :D

we have to pick 100 best photos of the trip and 50 best group photos -_- it's so hardd! wtf i'm gonna start sticking in random photos :/ haahha

i crave yogurtland.

so as of now, i'm off to HK on the 30th? of july! but hopefully earlier, around the 27th
:)

I'M SUFFERING FROM BEST FRIEND WITHDRAWELS D:

i think the fact that i still think about this just means i'm worried about that.
steffo. stop. thinking. about. it.

secret #3
i hate my voice and i dislike talking on the phone.
only because i fear awkward silences
i have yet to find another person other than _____ with which awkward silences are comfortable.

edit:
WHY IS HARKER SO SHADY
geez
anyways. i'm annoyed bcus i'm forced to chose between AP studio art and mandarin III honors. clearly, i have to chose my foreign language but I DON'T WANT TO.
aya this is so frustrating :(
i DID NOT GET GOOD GRADES IN THAT CLASS FOR THREE YEARS to not be in honors.
and i DID NOT WORK FREAKING HARD TO EVEN GET INTO APSA to not be able to take it.
i'm angury.
and also.
mr mitchell is still leaving soo no milton. freaking buttholes, senior year better be bomb D:<

20080701

summer dayz

and it's not even warm or anything
it doesn't feel like summer at all, and it feels like it should still be june
i've been gone for too long hahaa

but for some reason, i can't wait to leave again

i miss my long hair :(

fo sho fo sho
:D

20080630

can you see through the eyes of a dreamer?

UHM i don't feel like writing about europe bcus it feels like forever ago
so i won't :)
cept i write about that one time when deniz
spit a mouthful of toothpaste and water in my face.
steffo=totally owned
and i must say, it was almost completely unprovoked! kind of.
I DON'T DESERVE THIS SO EARLY IN THE MORNING T_T

anyways i guess the rest of the summer looks someting like:
SAT classes
and mega huge loads of SAT prep for last minute testing T_T
HK end of july for 2-3 weeks?

i wish for longer, but i'm kinda excited that i'll be there during the olympics

wish i could go :/

at the moment, i'm kind of frustrated that
i don't like our summer reading whatsoever and it's SUCH A DRAG to get through
i hate driving
but i want to be able to?
i'm out of shape and so very sore
yet desperate to get fit again
i'm trying to eat healthily after europe but failling miserably
i have so many tests i still have to take
and i have to start writing for my app?
and how i miss my friends :( but i'm barely making an effort to get back in touch?
i'm such a contradiction! :P

but at the same time, i'm pretty content
although my dad won't let me go to japan to see ft island :( hahaah

i wish my hair would grow faster!

and also, everyone should go check out ft islands new pv for their newest japanese song :)

i'm bored and should be doing something productive
but i'm not.

bbl tonight :)

edit:
i'd like to say that i EFFING HATE COLLEGEBOARD.
the end.
why is it that it's always our class that gets screwed over?
whatever
i guess it just gets more competitive from here :/

20080629

i hate packing.

!!!
HAPPY TWO DAYS LATE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY FT ISLAND!! :D
i'm a terrible fangirl D:
i remember a year ago was the first time i had heard of ft island, while studying for my chem final.
lol mai had sent me a picture of jonghoon and their mv and i was o_o so in love with them <3
and now. my daddy won't let me go :((
BOO.
their songs never get old :P
i can't till their second korean album comes out :))

[20:26] dezfez: i hate packing
[20:26] dezfez: i wish people could just walk around naked
ewww. well i guess if people weren't ashamed, it'd just be a part of life. but adam and eve already ruined that for us so i guess it's not really an option :/

so weather in england and france are kinda coldish, like 60s (haha cold for a calfornian....but it's summer!) and italy is pretty warm but WET. i have no idea how to pack :/ but i think i'll take my mothers advice and BUY whatever i'm lacking :D

i think i'll watch a movie tonight with simran :))
i feel like watching a good chick flick :P

so on sunday, eric talked about honesty and how it's super important in a relationship and i was like DANG T_T mindreader.
i dunno.
i'm just bad at confronting people, so it's not necessarily deceiving them, right? hahaa
whatever.

LOL epitome of MY LIFE.

secret #2.
she has an irrational fear of falling in love with her best friend.

20080608

i was right!

after i took (failed) my bio SAT, it felt like an incredible weight had been lifted off my shoulders..I'M FREEE :))

my dad and i walked around stanford shopping mall and bought ice cream and stuff, it was fun :)
and we were joking around in tiffany's and co and my mom was like T_T WTF SO EMBARASSING. my parents are so weird o_o

we went to a thai restaurant which was not nearly as good as the one in NYC.

and also! i cut my hair :P

EUROPE IN TWO DAYS and yet, i'm not entirely excited :/

blegdfdgjoi

i feel so lazy now :)

but i miss you all :(

20080605

HELLO SUMMER! :D

it doesn't feel quite right yet, but i'm sure it will
as soon as saturday is over!
as soon as we arrive in bath, england!
as soon as it gets unbearably hot :)

and now. i am a senior :)) teeheee

the mando final was ahhhhlright, i'm sure i made a couple to a small number of few mistakes :/ and with no curve?? please dr. j, i need to go to college.

humm afterwards, i finished up yearbook work, SPRING SUPP IS ALMOST DONE!! :D i'm proud of us :) with relatively NO help from the staffers :P even though the old editors started it for us....
ejsflgk !
deniz and i went to get froyo and then came back to pick up cameras for europe.
hung out with glish and alan
took a while to get home bcus alan wouldn't give my phone back unless i took a shot (I DID NOT FYI)

and now i've procrastinated for like 4 hours T_T

and also, i didn't get to say bye to a lot of my friends and my yearbook is still very blank. :(
blehh i hope i see them soon :/

on the other hand, i found my pencil that i lost a really long time ago.

:)

20080604

almost theree :D

SUMMER SCHEDULE

ANYWAYS
i'm excited. so so excited.
for summer, for senior year, for everything!

ALMOST DONE, just my chineeese final :D don't feel like studying.
this entry is very short. just for brian :D

20080603

THE END.

is near!

this is indeed my second post of the night.

the other day, mr. hanlon recited a list of top ten things to remember about period 5
and i was on it twice!

once for:
"stephanie's constant giggles whenever i said the word 'shuah'"
and
"i'm not one for giving advice but i will now, whenever you leave the house, always remember to SHET DE DO!"

SO NOT FUNNY ANYMORE YOU GUYS T_T

and also,

it seems to me that senior year has so much potential.
i've been thinking about it a lot lately

i always thought it was kinda overrated and stuff, and how old it was to scream and yell whenever they mentioned "seniors!" or "class of ___!"
but now i know

IT FEELS GOOD TO BE A SENIOR.

a list

(THIS WAS SUPPOSE TO BE POSTED ON SUNDAY BUT NEVER HAPPENED.)

of things i've done and things i've thought about

1. yesterday, while i was restarting my computer, it kept getting stuck on just my desktop and it wouldn't load T_T so i drew my desktop with a blue ballpoint pen while i waited. my desktop is ft island :B it started out as just wonbin's scarf but my computer was taking so long that i just drew him. and jaejin. and minhwan's shoulder, and part of hongki's on the other side of wonbin bcus he looked lonely. i kinda like it :P

2. a group of people and i got together and divided up dr. harley's monster study guide and each worked on a few chapters and in a few hours/ a day, we have a pretty comprehensive, completely complete, study guide. i'm kinda scared of, but oddly proud of, our 32 page creation.
(it is sooo mega funny. for example.
hyphae: stupid and dumb
alternate example: thread like etcetc.
I LAUGHED SO MUCH AND IT HELPED ME ON THE TEST.
prezygotic:
mechanical-bee cannot fuck a plant.)

3. i find it hard to completely trust everyones work, or not trust, but i feel better doing things myself so i've begun my OWN completion of the study guide to add on our 32 pages T_T. so far i've done 4 out of 17 chapters haaahaha :(

4. after i read janet's fb note/blogspot entry, i looked up scissor-lock and other things related to it and i spent like half an hour reading people's accounts on soompi. bcus soompi has all the answers. and it thoroughly freaked me out and i was too scared to turn around or anything even though it was 11 AM.
i felt alright bcus at first, i read that it was just a korean thing and i was like yay! but then i read more stories by not korean people, but other asian people. supposedly in chinese it's called gui ya T_T sounds so scary.
SO WEIRDED OUT RIGHT NOW. good thing i sleep on my side. and i pray often. GOD FTW!

5. so i've always wondered why God made us so complicated. i mean like, anatomically speaking and shnitzle, if we didn't have so many PARTS we wouldn't have so many PROBLEMS, i mean what's the point anyways T_T
and besides, if we were just blobs and stuff, i would have around 10 chapters less to study for the bio final.

EDIT: TUESDAY

6. ACED MY TWO FINALS TODAY :DDD sort of. kinda. i like to think i did :P
i hope my grades went up!

7. sat in deniz's car and ate a mcflurry while getting mcfat and watching people from prospect migrate in herds. we wondered what it'd be like to go to a public school just for a day. or a week if the boys were super cute or something.

8. i contemplated my future (aka college) for like two hours today. and felt very sad. until seany told me some very cliche and corny advice which made me feel slightly better so now instead of worrying while procrastinating, i'm blogging while procrastinating.

i've probably run the gamete of emotions this week/today

EUROPE ON TUESDAY. o____o
